Down To
Earth
Calvary of
Elizabeth City meets every Sunday at 5:00PM and every Thursday at
7:15PM in the Good Shepherd Lutheran
Church worship center.
Though it's not our home, it's a building with chairs, AC/Heat
& room to fellowship, and for that we're thankful
(especially in the middle of a
North Carolina summer). You'll be greeted at the door by a smiling
face, a bulletin, and the aroma of fresh brewed coffee.
Contemporary worship songs stream from an iPod Shuffle through the sound system, and we even let you
pick your own seat. Blue jeans or slacks? Button up shirt or
t-shirt? Works for us. We're just interested in letting God speak
to your heart. He'll take care of your wardrobe.
Children: Seen, Heard, &
Connected
At 4:45PM,
children 4 & under
begin in KidZone where it's time to play, read a Bible story,
color, and sing some songs. For children 5-11
years of age, they join their parents
for worship, then head to class after the songs have been sung,
where it's time to study God's word in a way that is easy to
understand and fun to learn. You may sign your kids in before
worship begins or during the mid-service break, and you are
responsible for picking your own kids up at the conclusion of the
service. We're always looking to improve our Children's Ministry's
effectiveness, so we
welcome your feedback for
making their experience meaningful and God-honoring.
Simply
Worship
At 5:00pm, it's
time to get started. We grab few guitars, add a few other
instruments and a little drum, and we sing a few songs you may be
familiar with, or maybe you've never heard in your life. Don't
worry - we've got PowerPoint slides on the wall, so it should be
easy to join right in and worship God simply, "in Spirit and in Truth".
Words
To Live By
Once we're
finished worshiping God, we take a few minutes to transition to the
most important part of our service: Learning from God's
Word. Pastor Keith Radke presents the Word of God in a way that is simple
and relevant, connected God's truth to our daily lives. We've made
room for taking notes on the back of the bulletin, so grab a pen
and jot down what God is speaking to you through His Word.
It's
Good to See You
Whether
you're looking for a new church, just visiting from out of town, or
dropping in to see what God is working on at Calvary, we'd be
honored to have you join us for worship and fellowship as we look
to enjoy "Life in the Love of
Jesus". See you
soon!
